I would classify myself as a photography enthusiast. Although very much an amateur, I have enjoyed studying about photography over the past few years and applying what I could within the limitations of a point-and-shoot. I have been amazed at the details that I see in my world which a few short years ago would have eluded me completely.
Before I had the capacity to explore the technical aspects of shooting manually, I enjoyed taking the time to experiment with composition, shoot a subject from many different angles, and figure out how to use natural light to my advantage.
In early 2011 I purchased the DSLR I'd been wanting for a long time. I am amazed at how quickly I am learning to find my way through the menus and controls. I continue to benefit from the time I spent gathering information and trying to master my point and shoot, because I had to work a little harder to get good pictures. I have so much to learn, but I feel as though I have hit the ground running, thanks to all of the wonderful resources I have made use of along my way. It's a blessing to be at the beginning of this new adventure with so many possibilities to explore.
